The recently launched crypto-burning portal Shiba Inu is still gaining a lot of media momentum less than a week after its launch.
In the first 24 hours after its launch, its official Twitter account reported that eight billion SHIBs had been burned as the owners disposed of them en masse.
Now, less than a week after launch, that number has doubled. Currently, it is reported that more than 20 billion SHIBs have been burned since the portal went live on Sunday.
By burning SHIB tokens, users permanently remove them from the circulating supply by transferring them to the burning address.
Meanwhile, whales continue to accumulate SHIB as the price prepares for another major move. In the last hours, two of the largest Ethereum whales have bought nearly 200 billion Sheba.
The first purchase of SHIB whales was that of a whale named "Bombur", which bought SHIB 50,852,928,611, or $1,153,852 worth. Another transaction that WhaleStats reported in recent hours is related to the transaction of Ethereum whale "BlueWhale0073", which bought another 143,334,055,785 SHIB, or the equivalent of $3,176,282.
